Advanced Candidate at the Psychoanalytic Center of California
Licensed as a Research Psychoanalyst in training by the California Board of Psychology, my psychoanalytic orientation is the British Object Relations school, with a particular focus on anxiety, depression, and trauma, with early trauma an area of specialization. Other areas of therapeutic work include relationship and attachment issues; questions of identity and belonging; grief and bereavement; and life transitions.

I have taught English language and literature since 2000 at private and state universities and community colleges.

My publications are in the area of human-animal studies, including in interdisciplinary academic journals and edited book collections.

In 25 years of teaching, I have mentored hundreds of students, providing exercises to help generate and organize ideas, sort through information, articulate thoughts, and develop coherent structures for personal and professional writing assignments, from blog post to job letter to thesis to memoir. I devote special attention to helping draw out your own unique writerly voice.
